KAMIKAZE AGAIN AND AGAIN

The suicide bombers of Iraq have failed to learn a very important lesson from history, the lesson of Kamikaze. Late in WWII the Japanese government embarked on Kamikaze. It meant to them, Divine wind. One by one we took the Pacific islands away from the Japanese occupiers, Iwo-Jima, Tarawa, Guadalcanal, Guam, the Philippines Islands and in every case the Japanese lost thousands of troops on each island. IE we had to kill them all. There was no surrender for them, for surrender was a disgrace. They were told death or victory was their only choice. So we Americans killed them all...and it was, after all, their choice.
But their determination to defend and die in a cave on the wrong end of a flame thrower came at too high a price in terms of American lives. The Japanese used their bodies in mass suicide attacks against our machine guns. They crashed boats loaded with explosives into American ships. They rode torpedoes into our ships...and 2,500 Kamikaze pilots died trying to kill Americans.
When Americans had all the islands under our control there was nothing left but the Japanese mainland. Our government realized the Japanese would defend their homeland more fiercely than they defended the islands and it would come at too high a price in American lives.
The solution, well, it was simple really, the Atomic solution. We dropped weapons of mass destruction on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. We erased two huge cities from the face of the earth and with them the will of the remaining Japanese to resist. The jig was up! We replaced their government with a Western style democracy. Doug MacArthur got them started off on the right foot and before long they were manufacturing products marked made in occupied Japan and well on their way to being a good little democracy and not bothering us again with nonsense of Jihad.
Did I say Jihad? Yes because Kamikaze and Jihad are the same stupid thing and the legacy of Kamikaze was nuclear destruction. Let's us focus our attention now or Iraq. It occurs to me that at some point the toll in American lives in the middle east will get too high too. One day, perhaps soon, some suicide driver is going to drive into one American convoy too many and kill one American soldier too many. My minds eye can see Bush, Rumsfield, Cheney and Rice deciding perhaps it's just time to erase Baghdad from the face of the earth and start them over on a western style democracy too.
Besides it would make both Syria and Iran pay attention. And best of all, the oil would still be in the ground just for our taking.
Watch out suicide bombers! Watch out for Mr. Bush. He has weapons of mass destruction!!!
