A friend e-mailed a photo of a dress made entirely of brightly colored condoms. If you could find a woman to wear it, would it be a party favorite? He said he found it on a site called Good shit.com. So I looked up the website and found pictures of adults showing their body parts, IE penis's and vulva's and wide open vagina's and breasts and nipples. It showed adults having oral sex and regular sex and they called it PORNOGRAPHY. Now...I'm having trouble with the term...and I'm not talking here about criminal sex, or sex with children, I'm talking about what CONSENTING ADULTS do behind closed bedroom doors.
I'm a "normal" adult male and the pictures that I saw were adults doing just what myself and my partner do on a regular basis, normal adults having good sex! I don't see it as pornography. Do you see what you do at home with your wife as pornography?
Pornography is listed in the dictionary as visual images lending themselves to a "purient interest." Well...what the hell is purient interest anyway? Since there seems to be literally dozens of adult web sites selling pictures of adults having sex, I think is it merely advertising. If looking at pictures of people having sex makes you want to have sex too, well...that's advertising and it's the American way. Before there was the Internet, there was Playboy and Hustler magazines. Now they too are on the Internet. Doesn't watching Martha Stewart making chocolate chip cookies make you want to have chocolate chip cookies too, or how about you guys lusting after that sexy Martha yourselves? Doesn't watching Chef Emeral cutting into a juicy steak make you want to cut into a juicy steal too?
Of course it does!
America is addicted to sex filled TV shows like the latest drippy drooly, "Desperate Housewives." Now I have to ask, is Desperate Housewives about Purient interest? Is it pornography when the characters jump into bed and simulate having sex? We see babes, boobs and hunky muscled torso's and they are selling everything from hair color to expensive jeans. No mention of safe sex though! Are they using purient interest to sell...THINGS? Sure!!
Do you want to see good lookin' women in their bras and panties, Oriental women, Black women, White women? Well you don't have to look up a pornographic (what does that word even mean?) website. Open the Oregonian newspaper. The women are a few pages back selling underwear! Underwear ads have always been the poor man's pin up. Twenty five cents for a newspaper or 6 bucks for a Playboy? When I was a kid I didn't have six bucks but I could always find a newspaper.
I'm wondering what to call the Viagra and Cialis ads. They are definitely using sex to sell the Pharmaceuticals. Are they appealing to the purient interest? They're on the Internet too right along with the so called "porn" sites. If your doctor says it's right for you, Viagra will send you a coupon for a few free pills on your first prescription. "Here," they must be saying, "have a great erection on us, get laid...then keep buying more of these pills." With Cialis, "when it's the right moment, will you be ready?" That phrase is certainly suggestive...ready for what is obvious, ready for the attractive babe smiling back at the guy on the commercial with a horny look on her fa
Purient interest? Pornography? I suggest that sex between consenting adults is neither.
It is just NORMAL. Now I think I'll go home and have some "pornography" with my mate.
Oh damn! Wait! I don't even have a pornograph!!
